Inspirational Stories Spark Writing Dreams: Review ‘The Writer’s Idea Book’

Writing is an act of hope,” Jack Heffron says in “The Writer’s Idea Book.”

How true is that statement! Just merely writing down our thoughts and wishes, we are inspiring our dreams. We are eagerly anticipating great things.

The author of this book goes on to say, “It is a means of carving order from chaos, of challenging one’s own beliefs and assumptions, of facing the world with eyes and heart wide open. Through writing, we declare a personal identity amid faceless anonymity.”

What does all that mean? First, one can write whatever is in their heart. They can write in private diaries and journals, they can post on public forums and personal blogs. A person who writes is a writer who challenges to be different. A writer will find that writing changes you on the inside.

When you’re writing, you’re expressing yourself. It is your voice. A voice to the world, the voice inside – speaking directly into your heart – it’s the voice within every writer that carves a little piece into this world.

In Heffron’s book he states the writer finds “purpose and beauty and meaning even when the rational mind argues that none of these exist.”

The truth is writing is an act of courage. Who can argue that statement!

When the writer is forced to deal with his own demons, he can open up to the world and be in a safe place. Yet the very act of facing those demons takes a great bit of courage. As Heffron states, “How much easier is it to lead an unexamined life than to confront yourself on the page?”

I find that reading another’s inspirational stories put my creativity to the test. If I can endure long enough I just might finish the book. What happens when I read?  I want to write. I become so enthralled with the subject matter, my writing heart wants to purge. I sometimes wonder if that happens to other writers. How many writers start reading a book then find that spark and want to ignite it? I do it all the time.

Your eyes are suddenly wide open. Your heart skips a beat and your mind wanders to new ideas.

That is why good writers read a lot.  Inspiration is found in the words resting on the page. The mix up of words jumbled together can jump off that paper right into the heart of another.

Creativity is blended together with just the right mix of quotes and inspiration. That’s why I can’t seem to get enough. That’s why I want to share it with others. Between all those who write and those who dream. If each one of us shares a little bit of that mix just imagine what can happen, the possibilities are endless.

Dream a little dream for me.

I might just pick up on it and share it with someone else. Who knows we might just spread that dream across the world for others to grab on to.
