Show your hearts to world. Show your hearts for the Berry children. In a story out of Houston Texas, the children of Joshua and Robin Berry are recovering from a fatal car accident. The crash happened July 2 when their van was hit head on. Both parents, Joshua and Robin died at the scene. Their three young children survived and two of them sustained spinal cord injuries. Two of the boys are paralyzed from the waist down.
This is a terrible tragedy. I cannot shake this family out of my mind. This tragic event has the country talking. A campaign to raise money for these surviving children started called, “Show your hearts” and is rampantly growing on Facebook and Twitter. Celebrities and locals are sharing their thoughts and money to benefit the family.
I think about my own children and my 4 grandchildren in the wake of this event. How a person’s life can change in an instant. Everything will be different for these children and their family members. My heart weeps for them. My prayers are lifted up to them. What can I do? What can you do?
Donations are being accepted on their Facebook page. What else can I do? I can only think of what I do
best and that is to write about it. Share it with others and get the word out. For the Berry children, for the love of parents, and the love for their children, for there is a healer. God is the source of healing when the wounds are this deep. There is a source greater than any of us can ever imagine, God’s great love.
So today, as we embrace our families, as we look into the eyes of our children or care for our parents, let’s remember how precious life is. Don’t waste another minute or take it for granted. Show them your love. Give a hug or two. For tomorrow is promised to no one.
