Through the tests God will lead you

How often have you heard that before? “Through the tests God will lead you.” Which leads me to this point in my journey. Have you ever woken up and had your day all planned, only to find out everything changed? Your whole schedule flips over, broken apart it’s totally unrealistic. Whatever happened to cause this upheaval doesn’t matter as much as your day is now a total mishap.

You become frustrated and anxious. Worried and upset you won’t accomplish what you were supposed to do, now you’re left in a sense of panic. Don’t worry, they tell you. It’s just a test. Perhaps it is a test of patience, a test of understanding, or maybe a test of perseverance.

Through these tests you find yourself struggling. Wanting to just get through it so you can move on to the next level, you become anxious.

Has this ever happened to you? I know when I fall into this trap, it’s a scheme to pull me down. A way of knocking down my ambitions so I will give up. Throw in the towel so to speak. I hear myself saying, “don’t give up — it’s just a test.”

Well this might sound bitter, but I don’t want any more tests. I’m ready to be led or so I think. God is waiting for me to come around. He is cleansing my character. Washing away the dirt of my stubbornness and the reality of my past hurts. He wants me totally dependant on Him.

My will fights against it. It is a human characteristic to maintain control over life’s presented challenges. Giving up the fight doesn’t meaning giving in. A dream in the heart doesn’t have to disappear. The real challenge is learning to roll with the every day punches life presents. Your schedule just needs adjusting. An attitude of concentration towards reflection is needed.

When sudden changes happen, take a step back, and bless the broken road ahead of you.

Reflect. Look in the mirror and ask yourself, “Have I contributed to this situation in any way?” Ask God to lead you. Ask Him to reveal any character flaws that are preventing you from certain realities. Place your hope and trust in Him. For in reality, we can learn through the tests.

For it is written, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything with prayer and petition, make your request known.”

So when your exhausted from trying, and your dream is slowly dying, keep your head held high. It may just be a test of your spirit. In may just be the spring-board. There may be something you need to learn before you take that next step.

  1. Our tests are many. I always come out stronger-when going through a test. !!!! We absolutly learn from going through these tests- and I have also found if you do not learn-you have this same test over and over again till you do learn !!!!! 🙂
