I’m learning this truth once again as I enter a new era of my life. It’s not about Me. It’s all about Him.
Why is it that we want, we desire, and we cling to things we expect to bring us great joys? We lean on each other and we seek to find answers. Yet every idea, every connection we make puts us closer to our dreams.
The interactions and relationships we build take us to new levels of living. We feel like we are just within reach then something happens. It’s a blast we didn’t expect. We then come to realize the fabric of our existence. The thread that lines our life shapes our character.
In those moments of weakness, when we let our guard down, we become vulnerable to an attack.
We start to feel pride in our work. We say we’re only “tooting our own horn” and we’re talking a good game. We feel we’re on top of the world. Yes, we tell ourselves, we’ve done something good to make a difference.
Then the blinders are removed. We created this mess and we look at it and say, I did that?
We are not defeated. It’s just a new beginning but we must remember, it’s not about us. It’s never been about us. For everything we do, all glory and honor goes to Him.
The God of our youth is the same God we read about in the Bible. No matter what we do in life to satisfy our own needs, it will never be enough. We are taught to respect our elders, mentor our youth and make a difference in this world. When we look within, we feel good about ourselves.
We want to be recognized, respected and appreciated but we must keep this thought in our mind. “It’s not about Me, it’s all about Him.
A beautifully written post FD that makes one stop and think…

Thanks PiP. It’s a reminder I sure did need.
Have a blessed day.
Perfect thought! I’m done with “It’s about me” because it’s limiting. “It’s about Him” is more exciting and fulfilling. Blessings to you 🙂
