Destruction, Chaos, Revelations and Everyone Wonders

With the unimaginable happenings in the world today, I’m left in such wonder. Everyone is talking about the destruction from the earthquake.

My heart goes out to the people in Japan and those surrounding areas.

With the tragic events that occurred, many are seeking answers. Why?

How can a loving God permit such tragedy to take place? I’m left in wonder. I watch the media events unfold and the tsunami waves crush over buildings and cars in such horror.  There are people in there.

It brings me to a place of humble sadness. In the quiet moments after the destruction, I’m left in prayer. Alone in my thoughts, in a quiet town away from these storms, I’m praying to a God who knows all things. A God of wonders, a God of miracles, a God who loves all people.

I do not have any answers. I do not understand tragedies such as this. All I can do is pray.

The night before this tragedy took place before any earthquake hit, I wrote a poem. In my wildest imagination, I don’t know why I was compelled to put this down into words. It was heavy on my mind and my Spirit spoke these words to me.

  1. Hi,
I wonder if there really is a God when I see what cards he deals. There is so much hate and unrest in the world at the moment I seriously wonder where it will end.

    • PiP, I know what you mean. With the evil that is transcending all around us, it can be unnerving. We just have to hold on to our faith. That is all I can do when I see hatred and terrible tragedies in this world. I have to remind myself that this world is not my home and that I was created for a different home. This is what I do to keep my faith at hand. And I pray, a LOT.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts here. Always good to hear from you.

  2. Praying with you. Hoping that we all acknowledge the presence of God so there is no need to hate and hurt and covet for too much.

    Peace to you 🙂
