Holding on to my Faith

Sakurajima eruption in 1974. Japan has 108 act...

These days I can’t watch the media. When I turn on the news, all I see are reports about tragedies. Whether it is the world at large with the terrible news from Japan, or my local news of crime, I just get sick to my stomach.
 For how long?

How long must we suffer?

I know this world is not where I belong and that I’m created for a divine purpose.  I am one of God‘s children and I have to remind myself that His world is larger than mine.

Destiny, eternity, faith, hope and love, all the earthly pleasures of this life does not guarantee my happiness. Peace and contentment cannot be found on the television. All I can do these days is to hold on to my faith.

Life is not offering me much these days and the unrest around the world is too much for me to bear. Faith is all I have. Tomorrow I may feel better, maybe tomorrow I’ll see or hear some good news. But for today, I’m justing holding on to my faith.

The world is at unrest. Hatred, evil, and natural disasters seem to prevail. Where can I turn to, but to the Lord? He is my strength, my hope, my peace, and He is all I have. He is the promise of peace. He gave His life so that I could have mine.

All that’s left is my Faith, and I’m not, under any circumstances, letting it go.

  1. Without the turmoil and testing of this present world we have no need or application for our faith. Consider is all a blessing as God is showing you how much he loves you, and this world, in spite of our weakness. Hold on to your faith, but also put action to your convictions. That is where the faith becomes a tool and not a crutch. Be blessed….Dave http://dadtalk.wordpress.com

  2. You are so right, if we don’t have our faith we’re no different than those who don’t know Jesus.

I’m holding on to my faith with you!

  3. No TV too for me for years now. I believe that if there is a breaking news it will reach to me by word of mouth or I can choose what to read on the internet.

Holding on to faith too 🙂
