Sentiments of the Heart

Sentiments of the heart speaks to all of us at some time or another. Our heart walk changes as we age. Experiences in life teach us new thoughts exhausting old feelings. Our feelings may change with our experiences but they are familiar, embracing us with marks of comfort.

Like sipping on a hot chocolate after spending a day in the cold outdoors, it soothes our soul. Or like a newborn baby being held for the first time, a love rushes over us we can’t explain. Sentiments of the heart. Those soul-working moments in life build your character and draw your personality. 

Life, some call it a journey. It’s travelling down a narrow road that will one day come to an end. Riding along, accomplishing little or nothing, we reflect over time. The holidays present themselves with all the sentiments, the pain, the sorrows, in which the longings, of our heart are revealed. 

When your heart is hard, you cannot love. The strong spirit of man will come through any tragedy but keep your heart right with God, and nurture above these events. By softening our hearts to be open to His loving presence, we allow Him to work in our lives. Modeling behavior of consistent faith during all circumstances brings about faith that is fruitful during the bad times. 

Balancing the things that occur allows us to really see what we need. Our tests in life are indicators of what we know, and do not know.  We tend to think we know a lot, but in reality we don’t know enough. It is during our tests that we find out what we know. Our circumstances show our fate. These indicators give us prospects to our behavior. If we try to do things on our own, we won’t be successful. Oh, we might think we are in control but in reality all events occur out of our control. 

Uncontrolled emotions are not attractive but stability gives us peace. Start by trusting God to take the situation and turn it around for good. The truth is that He will heal all your hurts, your wounds, your doubts and fears. 

This is the season of giving, of loving, of heart sentiments. Why not take advantage of this moment to unlock your heart and set it free. Every situation in life will demand your attention. Free yourself to the chains that bind you and walk away a free man (woman).
