I’ve learned a lot over my years, but there is something else that I’m constantly reaching for. The turbulence of my life has triggered an inner search of my thoughts, my motives, and my heart. I find that I’m always reaching for something new. If I don’t seek it, I find myself dwelling on the past, and looking into the future without hope. Seeking truth and victory, my heart yearns for what is right. My soul is captivated by beauty. Finding creative outlets to pour out my thoughts and feelings leave me replenished.
There is so much to be seen in this world. I find everywhere I look there is beauty. Taking off my blinders and looking at the world with the lens of the spirit, I can see true nature at work. Creative minds and hearts are found in distant places. Reading the morning blogs enlighten my heart and clarifying truth telling lifts my soul. I see testimonies from people all over the nation speaking their minds over faith and life, such beautiful words written on a page, telling the stories of their lives.
Art endeavors and photo captured elements of nature inspire me. I notice these things. I find that there can be good in this life and that we, mankind, can be a giving society. It gives me hope and I feel the connection of God’s spirit. The souls of positive thinking, of a love shared in unity.
When I’m feeling down and my heart is saddened, I read the scriptures. I find peace in God’s word. Grief can consume your heart, your mind, and take joy away from your spirit. I realize that deep down; God doesn’t want me like this. He believes in me and the truths of this life. If I can take my pain and turn it into something good and positive, I am strengthened. Refreshing my spirit, allowing me to grow from this situation, and in healing, I find peace.
One of my favorite verses is, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-29
Removing all self-doubt, I am truly blessed. This life is only a temporary stop along my journey. Searching for meaning and truth will come one day and I will be satisfied.
So I’m left with this tale of a spoken word to go out there and be the best person you can be. Fill your life with positive messages and encourage yourself. Lift another’s burden for someone today and give a smile to a stranger. Look for the best in people and arrange your life so you have time for your loved ones. We don’t know how long we have, so make the best of it, starting today.
