Today’s simple message is all about giving thanks. Being grateful isn’t that hard to do as long as we keep our perspective. How do we look at our situations? Are we cynical or grateful? Do you see the glass half empty or half full?
Being grateful is as simple as saying thank you. Giving thanks for the many blessings in your life is simple enough. Look at all the good in your life. For just this minute, set down those worries. Put away the baggage you’ve been carrying. Take this moment and say thank you God. Thank you for my life, for the people in my life, for my job, my home, for the clothes I wear. We can go on and on with all the good in our lives if we look at in a new perspective.
Give God all the glory for taking care of your basic needs: food, clothing, shelter. Thank Him for the relationships in your life, even that thorn in your side. For that difficult relationship is the one that is helping your character grow.
It’s easy to forget to give thanks. We take things, as well as people, for granted. We tend to focus on our problems. We analyze our situations, trying to figure it all out. Why not we step outside for a moment and give it a new perspective. Look at the brighter side of tomorrow. Put your trust in God that He has it all under control and will work it all out. maybe then we can lighten up a little.
If you’ve never put your trust in God, I encourage you to do so. Believe me when I say, He will change your life.
Every morning when I wake up, I pick up my Bible and read a short passage. I don’t have a lot of time in the mornings. Like most people, I have to get ready for work. I have a busy schedule too, but I take that time. I don’t sacrifice it because it is so important to me. Even if its only 5 minutes, I say a prayer of gratitude. These days I’ve been sharing my scripture journey here on Faith Dream. Because I am so grateful for these blessings, I want to pour it all over my pages so you can be inspired too.
What are you grateful for today? Have you spoken in kindness? Have you encouraged another? Have you told someone what they mean to you? Take a moment and share your gratitude with God and others, it will open your heart and change your perspective.
