Is your soul restless? Are you trying to ease the pain of suffering? Our souls are restless until we find rest in God. Today’s Bible verse inspires me to be all that I can be.
No matter what I might be facing today, I know my God is always present with me. I might not be able to see him or touch him but I know he is there. My spirit speaks to him and through my spirit He speaks to me. The Bible verse today teaches me, He is ever-present.
“That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever”.(2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NLT)
My God sustains me, my God carries me. For when I am weak, He is strong. I need not fear because my God is more powerful than the raging winds. He is more capable than a storm brewing on the horizon. He is ever-present, never-changing, and loves me unconditionally. Who could ask for anything more!
Can one find peace in the midst of all the pain? Today’s message speaks to the heart. It says, “The deepest level of worship is praising God in spite of pain, thanking God during a trial, trusting him when tempted, surrendering while suffering, and loving him when he seems distant.”
This is not the time to fear or to give up. When trials come we are to remain hopeful and be encouraged, for we realize our momentary trials will not last long. We can remain hopeful because we know how mighty and glorious our God is. We can be encouraged because He who stands with us and is for us will manage it all.
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT)
Finding rest for the restless soul comes during the quiet times, it rises up during the worship times, and it finds peace in knowing God has a plan for your life. This is today’s encouraging word.
