Deep inside each of us we have a longing. It is a need to be loved and to love. This love is found in everyday beauty and the surroundings. It is also found in the eyes of our loved ones. A love that is pure and innocent is found in the newborn baby. A love treasured is found in the passing of those dearly departed.
Finding love is a journey of discovery. Each person seeks it and the adventure along the valley can sometimes be intoxicating. When loves discovered, it is a breath of fresh air.
New love is captivating, it steals your soul and lingers.
When someone encounters love for the first time, they are swept off their feet. In love every kind of feeling surfaces from insecurity to oblivion.
Love is the most sought after commodity in life.
People need it to survive like they need food and water. The Bible teaches to love your neighbor as yourself and to love God with all your heart, mind, and soul. Think about that. What greater love for another that someone would give their life. One of the most famous passages of the Bible, John 3:16 tells us that God so loved the world, He would send His only son. That is pure love and there is none greater.
Whether in love or finding love, a person develops a softness within their heart when they possess love. The opposite is true as well. For as one who hates is bitter and envious. A person, who hates steals, builds mistrust, and abolishes others.
Isolation occurs when love becomes broken. Heartache sets in when love is lost. Feelings of insecurity and desperation can lead a person to do crazy things. At times, love is irrational. When love steals the heart nothing can stop it. Love has such a wide swing effect that people do all kinds of things in the name of love.
When love is true, when it deepens, it allows a person to grow. This is admirable. For love to evolve over time is one of the greatest gifts from God. Love that is built to last can endure almost anything. Gratifying in itself, love is self-sacrificing, it is giving and receiving. Love builds others up and draws people close. To find that special one true love in life is a blessing. One that shouldn’t be taken for granted.
This week marks Holy Week. The time in every Christian‘s life when reflection is called upon to serve the heart and needs of others. For Christ’s love is the greatest of all loves. His death and resurrection speaks of God’s great love for all of mankind.
As you go about your week and reflect upon His great love, remember to love those people in your life. Show them that you care about them. Embrace the love of others and give back to those who are in need. Give a helping hand and bless the lives around you.
For there is no greater love than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

Thank you Molly. Glad you stopped by… appreciate the kind words. 🙂
There is another side of love. This side can be blind, selfish and all consuming. I think God’s love is different to love we feel for others.
