Today’s message gives me hope. I’ve been secretly struggling over some petty issues in my life. As I look at these struggles they seem insurmountable but I forget how big my Father in heaven is. I don’t have to take on the world, that’s not what I’m called to do.
In my daily devotion today I read, “God doesn’t want you to become a god; he wants you to become godly, taking on his values, attitudes, and character. We are meant to “take on an entirely new way of life – a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you.” (Ephesians 4:22-24 MSG)
Every time you forget that character is one of God’s purposes for your life, you will become frustrated by your circumstances. You’ll wonder, ‘Why is this happening to me?’
Never forget that life is not about you! You exist for God’s purposes, not vice versa. God gives us our time on earth to build and strengthen our character for heaven.”
What an encouraging word! I’m soaking this message up today for I realize my troubles are momentary; that in the end these struggles are building something stronger in me.
Today’s message reminds me of the saying I heard yesterday, ‘turning your pain into purpose.’ That phrase stuck with me. I’m renewed to start my day!
I’m going to turn up the music today. I’m going to sing Kelly Clarkson‘s song loud and with emphasis, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, stronger.”
