Surrender – You are Beautifully Made

Who are we when no one is watching? What do you become when the tables are in your favor?

In life, we make decisions. When faced with anything serious or critical, we are wise to research all possibilities before reaching a decision. Who we are on the inside will be uncovered when we are under fire. With trials of any kind, we find out who we really are.

So I took this week to take a step back. Reflecting on my journey, I found that under scrutiny, I’m much harder on myself than what others think. When we look in the mirror, what do we see?  Do we find personal satisfaction or we busy looking at all of our flaws?

Most people don’t pay attention to all the details one sees within himself. When looking at a mirror, a person identifies who he is in relation to the world around him. By seeing his flaws, he points out his imperfections, but most people don’t care about them.

For example, we’ve all heard the story of a wife coming home with a new dress and unconsciously she is lacking self-confidence. She asks her husband, “does this dress make me look fat?” 

Of course, her husband would be wise to say, “honey, you look beautiful no matter what you wear.” He knows this is a fine line and if he chooses to ignore her question, he’ll be sleeping on the couch.

A humorous story or not. It just explains that people whether man or woman feel the need to hear encouragement.

We are so busy staring at the mirror that we fail to see what is before our eyes. The new dress, the new job, or the new relationship, at some point we will feel insecure in our situations. Upon further reflections we will see that they were only stepping-stones in our walk  in life.

Who we become is a by factor of our experiences, surroundings, and our perspective in life. Why not surrender those insecurities and admire the beauty that lies within!  You are unique.  You are wonderfully made, by the Creator Himself.  There are no mistakes in your genetics.

“When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice.” 

Why not celebrate the fact, you are alive.  Things are going well and probably better than you anticipated. Look around at your blessings and appreciate those things that bring you joy.
